Rhode Island 5,6,7

The last part of the trip we just relaxed and hung out at Rob and Denise's! I loved Rhode Island with all the trees, yet the city and the ocean where right there too! We ate lots of yummy food, laughed, Mike repaired things in their house and of course I helped he told me that he is going to start taking me to home depot with him, went shopping, and read our books! We had a wonderful time with the Sullivans :) On our way home in the Minneapolis airport there was a Harley store so I of course had to get the boys another prize!

Rhode Island & Boston day 3&4

Wednesday morning we just slept in after a long drive home from New York. That day we just kind of hung out around the house. We ventured out to of course find a Harley store for my dad. We found this really cool one in Rhode Island and I was able to get some prizes! Thursday we got up early and got the kids off to school and then we headed to Boston which was only an hour and a half drive. I LOVED Boston!! I thought it was so pretty there. We started off the day going on the Freedom Trail which took us to all the big highlights in town. This was our funny tour guide :)We saw where John Hancock, Paul Revere, Samual Adams, and James Otis were all buried. We also saw a lot of cool old churches. We then finished where the Boston Massacre was and where they read the Declaration of Independence. Then we went and had lunch at the commons where they had tons of different kinds of food from Indian to philly steak to pizza to clam chowder! After that we stopped by the Cheers gift shop to get some more prizes! After that we headed up to Paul Reveres house and saw a mobster on the way hanging out at an Italian resturant :) Then we followed the trail to the USS Constitution. After that we had a long hike back to the car. After we got to the car we headed to Harvard Campus. It was really fun to go walk around the campus/little town. On our way home we stopped at the real Cheers and checked it out.
I will finish the rest of the trip this weekend :)

New York Day 1 & 2 of my trip

Finally I am going to post about my trip :) It will be super long sorry. The first part of October I was able to go back east with my inlaws and stay with Josh's aunt and uncle in Rhode Island. I have always wanted to go there and finally made it. I flew into New Jersey on Sunday the 3rd and Mike, Connie, Denise, and Zach picked me up. We went and checked into our hotel and then the running began! We rode the train into New York and our first stop was Ground Zero. It was amazing to be right there and see all the construction and the little church across the street was full of memories of the 9/11. It was kind of an emotional stop, just knowing what all those people and their families went through that day. We of course had to get a hot dog off the street too :) After that we headed to Wall Street. We were able to see the Tiffany Store, The Trump Building, and, The New York Stock Exchange. We also went through Grand Central Station(that is in a lot of movies). Then we went to Little Italy and Chinatown. In Little Italy everything was in Red, Green, and White. There were tons of shops and good Italian restaurants. We ate in Little Italy and it was really good. Then we walked a couple blocks over to Chinatown and only lasted about a block because it stunk so bad!! There were dead fish, chickens, and lots of other things just sitting out! Then it was off to see Time Square, Rockafeller Building, The Today Show, Empire State Building, NBC, and Radio City. Time Square was my favorite! I loved all the signs and where the ball drops on New Years. Also all the little shops and people performing. We hung around there til it got dark so we could see it all bright! I was even lucky to get my picture with Elmo for Rylee and for a $1!! We saw where they do the skating and have the big christmas tree at the Rockafeller square.
A couple of other fun things I got to see that day were a cupcake shop called Crumbs and the Redken on 5th Ave.
That night we went back and crashed. Then it was up early again to go hit Statue of Liberty and Central Park. It was kind of raining when we were going to Statue of Liberty but not too bad once we got on the boat. On the way there we stopped for some real PIZZA! The pieces were huge, but so good! The ride out to the island was so pretty looking back at the city. It is such a cool thing to go out there and see it right up close. Then we went to Ellis Island, but didn't get off. Our next stop was Central Park. On the way there we saw the Plaza which is a beautiful hotel. We were able to take a little horse and buggy ride around the whole park in the pouring rain with our hot chocolate :) It was still really fun to see all the spots that different movies were filmed in like Home Alone and Friends. We were able to see the Ghostbuster house where Tiger Woods(or his wife) and Bruce Willis live at the top. We finished off the night eating at Planet Hollywood! Then we had a 3 hour drive ahead of us to get to Rhode Island.

I will post about Boston and Rhode Island too. I just figured this post was long enough :)
